Artist Statement:
Drawing for me is a process in which I can transfer conscious and unconscious thoughts and ideas to paper and thereby make them tangible. I am constantly making notes or drawing in my sketch book. Most of these drawings are incomplete and not meant for the public. These drawings are for myself and are the springboard from which I develop each piece.
Drawings which I show the general public are similar in imagery to both my paintings and my sculpture. They are very colorful and playful, yet they are cloaked in an underlying mystery and filled with emotional and psychological turmoil.
Process/Technique:
This series of drawings are a combination of color pencil, china markers and oil sticks sometimes with the use of different solvents to melt and blend areas of color.
